On Feb 19-21, 2009 National Information Communications Technology Development Authority (NiDA) and International Data Group (IDG) organized an event at Naga World Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Banking and Microfinance Cambodia 2009 with the theme “Modernization of the Banking and Microfinance Industry in Cambodia” with hosted by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC).
As an active practitioner, PRASAC joint the event as a contribution sponsor and exposed itself to the government officer, Indochina central bank governors, bankers and microfinance practitioners through its exhibition booth, PRASAC distributed some related documents about PRASAC MFI as well as showing their performance to the participants at that moment. PRASAC is a “neighborhood” MFI with deep and established roots in the communities in which it operates, PRASAC MFI goes out of its way to serve its customers with respect and friendly service. As at December 31, 2008, PRASAC MFI had 1,026 staff deploying in more than 95 office networks in 17 provinces and cities working in 126 districts, 1,180 communes, 7, 475 villages and serving about 100,116 active clients with loan portfolio about 239 Billion Riel (USD59 million).
