PRASAC Microfinance Institution and National Biodigester Programe (NBP) have been collaborating in 8 provinces to provide loans for biodigester plants. In order to extend its mission to improve the living standards and maximize the beneficiaries of biodigest credit program, PRASAC and NBP) organized three credit workshops at three more provinces, Siem Reap, Pursat, and Battambang. The workshops were focused on official launching National Bodigester Credit Program to these target provinces.
The participants joined in these workshops including Officials of Provincial Department of Agricultural, and local authorities (commune leaders, village leaders) and representatives of PRASAC add NBP in total of 117 participants. PRASAC has been collaborating with NBP since 30th November 2007 aiming at contribution to promote the sustainability of renewable energy, and environmental protections in order to improve the living standards of Cambodian. As a result, there were 3,076 clients accessible to PRASAC’s loans for biodigester plant constructions as at May 30, 2010; they are available for biogas energy in which is quicker and easier than fuel wood energy source for cooking. In terms of office network outreach, PRASAC has been spreading out up to 24 provinces and cities (147 offices in 1,164 districts, 1,327 communes and 8,552 villages) in which there are 1,430 staffs serving to 86,690 borrowers as of June 2010. |
